Dinkum Oriental started in Fremantle, Perth as Lai's food. Ron Lai, a chef whose passion is to experiment new tasty dishes that suit individual tastebuds, spawn his motto "it is the sauce that wins your heart". True to his motto he took the feedbacks from his patrons seriously.

Armed with knowing their tastebuds, he developed a variety of sauces not only suitable for Western palate but more importantly, for most oriental cuisine ranging from exotic oriental to simple Chinese dishes.These sauces are creatively developed for the Australian's palate.

Ron Lai began to supply his sauces to his partners. Other oriental and fast food restaurants. Those restaurants also enjoyed good respond for the sauce and their business grew. The rest is history.

As the business grows, Ron decided to repackage the sauces in this new exciting label packaging. Today, you can buy the Dinkum Oriental sauces from the supermarket shelves all over Australia.
